Sense and Sensibility
Oh man... I know I've gone on about Sensible Soccer rather a lot on here, but I just checked Firebox out, and found out about this :-

Yes it's one of those plug 'n' play things... for (ouch) £30
So what do you get for yer thirty squid?
- A chance to play 2 player Sensi on the telly again? Check
- How about that other Sensible classic - Cannon Fodder? Check
- Not enough? Fancy a Firebox exclusive Sensible Soccer T-Shirt? Check
- This might be the clincher: Mega-Lo-Mania*?
WAHEY
* What do you mean you've never heard of it. It's a classic! "Ergonomicawwy tewwific"
Oh man... If I didn't already have a Sensible Soccer t-shirt (although a slightly different one), and hadn't just bought the Sensible Soccer mobile-phone game on Friday, I might be tempted...
Oh what am I on about. You all KNOW I'm going to order one, don't you...

Steady... Aim... RUN AWAY!
I started online gaming on my PS2 late last year, well, just playing Burnout 3 if I'm honest.
When I first signed up, Sony promised to send me an updated Network Access disc that included a full game called "Hardware: Online Arena". Well, I thought, it's free, so it's probably not up to much, and you don't actually NEED the Network Access Disc once you're set up, so I never bothered chasing it.
Anyway, something reminded me about it last week, so I rang them, and they sent it me...
And it's really quite good! (for free)

Up to 16 players careering round a map in a selection of jeeps and tanks, with all sorts of power-ups, trying the blow the heck out of each other... in my new philosophy of quick 'pick up and play games' it fits right in! I've decided I now really need a headset too...
There aren't that many maps, and only about 8 vehicles, so I can imagine it might get boring fairly quickly.
But then again, I have yet to take Timesplitters 3 online... Mwah hah hah (oh, I'm dead).

Monkey Magic
I keep going on about how I've got LOADS of games I haven't played that much. Unfortunately most of them are long story based type things, like Metal Gear Solid 2, Final Fantasy X, and it's that long since I played them I can't remember what I'm supposed to be doing.
I love these story based games, but post-kids I just don;t seem to be able to find the time to devote to them. So I'm getting more into the disposable pick-up-and-play games that you can fire up for a quick half an hour, a la Burnout 3.
Anyway... yesterday my copy of Timesplitters: Future Perfect arrived.

And it's awesome. Actually, no, it's not, it's awesomer than a very awesome thing that's having a really awesome day. And it was even awesomerer because it only cost £20.
I only played for about an hour, but already I have:-
- Escaped a crashed spaceship and made my way to the rebel base
- Invaded a Scottish island in the 1920's
- Tried remote-controled-stuffed-cat-on-wheels racing
- Used my 'electrotool' (phnarr) to recharge a room full of battery powered disco dancing monkeys.

See: Awesome!

My boomerang won't come back
So E3 is here, and the next-next-next-generation consoles are out in force.
Playstation 3
Very slick. Allegedly twice as powerful as the Xbox 2 (sorry, '360').
But what is it with that controller design? And it SO wants to be an Xbox (built in hard drive as standard)

And as for the Xbox 360: (1) Stupid name, (2) Pig ugly, (3) It
wants to be a PS2 (horizontal or vertical stand, hard drive is an
optional extra)

And last of all for the Nintendo fan-boys (and fan-girls), the Nintendo Revolution. Looks very nice indeed.

At least it seems all three support wireless networking, and wireless controllers...
Now let's just see the games, eh?
